Caral Mracek has always worked in data management. She was one of the original team that, in 1978, established Bellsize Computers as a bespoke software development and data management business. Early successes included writing a payroll system for the National Westminster Bank, writing and running a data management system for Safeway’s (now Morrisons) and developing a data capture application for British Telecom.
Moving increasingly into media – the first key project was creating a subscriptions system for Euromoney in the early 1980s – the company designed and wrote its own software application, DYNAMIQ, specifically to satisfy publishers’ requirements for customer data management and data interchange.
Over the years the company has grown and developed into one of the leading players in the database marketing world. In 2006, with a strong client base, proven subscriptions expertise and an intimate understanding of how media businesses are changing, Caral and her co-directors launched Alliance Media.
